  • Work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnosis of the cause of malfunctions and performing repair(s).
  • Communicating with the parts department to obtain needed part(s).
  • Following protocols to ensure parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examining assigned vehicle(s) to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communication with the service advisor/dispatcher immediately on repair, updates, and/or delays.
  • Document all work performed and recommend it on the repair order.
  • Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Reporting machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean. Notifying the service advisor/dispatcher immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Maintenance and accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Keeping abreast of, and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Keeping abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Operates all tools/equipment in a safe manner and reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Candidates have the following:
  • English proficiency is essential for understanding safety protocols, customer interactions, and internal communications.
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE or Cummins Engine Repair Certification is a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid CDL License is a plus
