Best Veterinary Solutions, Inc., has an immediate opening for a Senior Cost Accountant. This position will oversee cost accounting and margin analysis for an animal health company with a diverse business model. The Senior Cost Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights, drive efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.This role is an in-office position based at either our Ellsworth, Iowa or Siloam Springs, Arkansas facility. Core business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.A pre-employment and annual federal-level background check is required for this position.Responsibilities include:
Take ownership of cost accounting processes for finished goods and distributed products, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation.Maintain and improve standard cost structure; collaborate with manufacturing on work center setup, BOM, and routing accuracy.Work alongside manufacturing and sales teams to develop and maintain standard cost estimates for new and updated products; support accurate quoting and margin planning.Support Fusion Feed Ingredients by entering and maintaining accurate BOMs and routings in Sage X3, ensuring data integrity for reliable costing and production planning.Review production cost accounting details, correct variances, and support accurate entry of production data in the Sage X3 system.Conduct detailed margin analysis across service, distribution, and manufacturing segments to identify trends and improvement opportunities.Prepare detailed variance analysis for manufactured and distributed products to identify issues impacting margin.Work closely with sales and leadership to evaluate profitability by product class and market segments; provide accurate cost data and suggest pricing and target margins.Run cost scenarios to assess the impact of price changes or input costs on overall margin.Analyze freight costs and absorbed freight costs to understand their impact on profitability and recommend strategies for optimization.Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to improve freight expenses and variances related to COGS.Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.Develop and maintain financial models to support decisions related to service, distribution, and manufacturing operations.Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.Implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cost and margin activities.Other duties as assigned.#J-18808-Ljbffr
