Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Our client is a leading life/annuity carrier, backed by one of the world's largest global asset managers. Renowned for its longstanding history and recognized as one of America's most trustworthy financial institutions and top mid-sized employers, this carrier plays a pivotal role in managing investments under the global asset manager's purview.Currently seeking a Director of Investment Accounting to oversee the accounting and reporting for the company's investments under U.S. Statutory and GAAP standards. Client is open to hiring at either the Manager or Director level. This role involves maintaining internal controls, supporting audits, and providing strategic insights to enhance investment strategies and ensure regulatory compliance. Expertise in GAAP and Statutory reporting within an insurance company, along with experience in investment accounting, financial reporting, auditing, and leadership, is essential.This role is on-site and may be based in League City or Houston, Texas, Glenmont, New York or Springfield, Missouri. Compensation in the $140,000-$180,000 on the base plus bonus, with some flexibility depending on candidate. Relocation assistance offered accordingly.QualificationsA Fuller Job Description is Available

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA, CFA, and/or MBA credentials (preferred).
• Professional experience in the insurance industry in investment accounting, financial reporting, or auditing.
• Leadership experience managing a team of accounting professionals. Skilled in cross-team collaboration, process improvement, and driving efficiencies.
• Strong knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting for fixed income investments, mortgage loans, and real estate.
• Experience with GAAP and statutory accounting for insurance company general account portfolios (preferred).
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems or investment software such as SAP, PAM, Aladdin, Clearwater, or CAMRA (preferred).
