Financial Operations Director at Project 26 Pennsylvania

About the Race

As one of the nation's key swing states, Pennsylvania is familiar with the perennial influx of out-of-state organizers and single-cycle organizing programs. These programs aim to maximize voter participation but often fall short of truly empowering Pennsylvanians to lead civic engagement in our state. Young voters are often told their votes will save us. At Project 26, we believe that with the right support, young people are ready to do more than just deliver votes—they are ready to lead.

With approximately 766,000 registered voters enrolled in colleges and universities across Pennsylvania, Gen-Z students have the power to influence election outcomes—if we organize now.

We are building an innovative operation to protect and expand democracy by elevating youth leadership across the state, empowering thousands of college students to take control of their futures, get organized, and vote in the 2025 elections, laying the groundwork for a year-round 2026 engagement program.

What Will You Do?

Project 26 seeks a Data Director who understands that conventional campaign data systems often fall short of reaching young voters. We want someone passionate about engaging young voters wherever they are, with the creativity and discipline to adapt traditional data practices for a universe built by and for young people.

The Data Director will manage the Data Department and oversee cross-departmental reporting for our 2025 campaign. This senior role will work closely with the State Director to:

  • Collaborate across departments to develop metrics, effective reporting, and data tools
  • Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of automated and manual reports and dashboards
  • Work with campaign leadership and partners to develop voter contact universes
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the campaign's data infrastructure
  • Administer and support VAN and other voter contact tools
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Who Are You?

    A successful candidate will have:

    • At least two campaign cycles of experience, including one in a data role
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and a passion for the work
    • Proficiency with VAN, including administrative experience (managing profiles, creating targets, interpreting scores)
    • Intermediate or advanced skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets
    • Proficiency with SQL (strongly preferred)
    • Experience with data visualization platforms like Google Data Studio or Tableau (a plus)
    • Prior staff management experience (a plus)

Job Details: Compensation is $7,250/month, including health benefits and a technology stipend. This is a full-time role.

We are an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourage applicants from Black, Indigenous, People of Color, women, LGBTQIA+ communities, and other underrepresented groups to apply.
