Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing and procuring specialized goods and services.
  • Owning contractual management for the supplier.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, and end-users.
  • Prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, and analyze and evaluate proposals. Negotiate subcontract provisions, select or recommend subcontractors, write awards, and administer resulting subcontracts.
  • Develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services.
  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
  • Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
  • Manage performance of subcontracts, ensuring compliance with all public law requirements as well as company policies and procedures, including import/export regulations.
  • Employ sound business practices and assess supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
  • Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers. Review and approve supplier payments as needed.
  • Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong strategic, innovative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including MS Teams, One Note, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated strategic, innovative, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or other related fields.
  • 3 or more years of professional experience in supply chain management, business & financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing, or other related fields or 1 or more years of relevant experience with a master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power BI Report Server.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
  • Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications.
  • SAP experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR.

Salary Range: $70,600 - $105,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
