Job Description :

Hourly: $20 - $25

Position Summary: The Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting with the management and supervision of the Extended Day Program, Summer Camp, Holiday Program, and other special programs involving students in the Community School.

Essential Duties:

  • Design and implement programming that meets the educational and social needs of children in the school.
  • Assist with ongoing assessment of children to provide appropriate services.
  • Meet with parents to discuss their child's progress.
  • Link children and families to appropriate services.
  • Address behavioral and emotional issues with children and families; refer to mental health services when needed.
  • Provide crisis management and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership on designing, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities, including holiday programming.
  • Develop relationships with parents through involvement strategies and communication.
  • Participate in hiring staff alongside the Program Director.
  • Support administrative tasks such as updating certifications, registration, enrollment forms, documentation, attendance, and supply orders.
  • In the absence of the Program Director, oversee all programs and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program or Community School Director.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree preferred or 3+ years of related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with children and families.
  • At least 1 year of administrative experience.
