At Cyclyx, we believe that working together can drive meaningful change in the recycling landscape.Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and commercially drivenRecycled Plastics Traderto spearhead the sourcing and resale of waste plastic materials across North America. In thiscommission-based role, you will operate with autonomy-identifying sources of plastic waste, structuring transactions, and brokering material to downstream buyers without internal processing.This is a senior, entrepreneurial role ideal for an experienced trader or broker who thrives on performance-based success, brings a strong network in the plastics and recycling space, and is excited to help shape a growing line of business within a mission-driven joint venture.Key Responsibilities

• Source Waste Plastic Materials Identify and engage suppliers of plastic waste-such as MRFs, converters, manufacturers, and aggregators. Evaluate quality, volume, and logistics to match market needs and ensure deal viability.
• Broker Deals to End Buyers Sell sourced materials to recyclers, converters, or trading partners based on market demand and pricing dynamics. Close deals that optimize margin, logistics efficiency, and long-term buyer relationships.
• Build & Manage Your Book of Business Operate independently to build a pipeline of active deals, manage supplier and buyer relationships, and track transaction performance. Maintain deal flow from initial negotiation to contract execution and delivery.
• Market Intelligence & Insights Stay up to date on recycled plastics pricing, regulatory changes, and regional supply/demand trends. Share market insights to inform broader business strategy and risk management.
• Compliance & Documentation Ensure all deals meet applicable regulations and documentation standards for environmental and trade compliance.

Experience/Knowledge

• 7-15+ years of experience in materials brokerage, plastics recycling sales, or commodity trading.
• Established network of suppliers and/or buyers in the recycling and plastics value chain.
• Proven track record of independent deal-making and managing a commission-based pipeline.
• Understanding of key plastic types (PE, PP, PET, PS, etc.) and relevant quality specs.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and commercial decision-making skills.
• Self-starter comfortable with autonomy, and performance-driven compensation.

Compensation & Structure

• Commission-based compensationwith uncapped earnings potential.
• Performance incentives based on deal volume and margin performance.

Education/Training

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a relevant field.

Position MechanicsReports to: Vice President, CommercialType: Exempt; Full-timeWork Hours: Flexible, but must be available 8:00-5:00, Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneLocation: The Woodlands, TexasWork environment: Primarily office environment but may also work in an industrial environment at times where the use of PPE is required.Travel: Moderate-around 25% to meet with suppliers, customers and attend off-site meetings.Physical Demand is substantially that of an office environment.
