Job Location: USA - Chicago Innovation Center Campus (IL), USA - Florida, FL - Remote Location

The Senior Industrial Bakery Specialist, or Application Specialist, supports profitable business growth by developing and implementing innovative concepts and solutions on industrial production lines. This role also troubleshoots specific issues to ensure smooth operations and enhance customer satisfaction. As part of our expanding R&D team, you will develop and implement innovative concepts, troubleshoot issues, and improve customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development & implementation of new products, concepts, and technical solutions on industrial bakery lines
  • Participate in early stages of new developments and creation of demo concepts; proactively develop new bread concepts using Puratos technologies
  • Respond to customer needs and technical challenges in bakeries; lead troubleshooting efforts at industrial bakeries
  • Identify Puratos solutions to address challenges and protect existing/new business
  • Identify new business opportunities at large customers; detect products at risk, and implement solutions
  • Conduct internal and external presentations/seminars on product benefits
  • Participate in strategic exercises to develop business based on local market needs
  • Write detailed reports of technical interventions; manage all technical information securely and accessibly
  • Become a leading expert in the product range through training and field experience
  • Build an active network with customers, equipment suppliers, researchers, vendors, and the international Puratos R&D community
  • Provide insights on innovative raw materials and technologies to differentiate our products
  • Build expertise and network in the specialty area; become a leading product expert through training and fieldwork
  • Ensure compliance with food safety procedures; report issues to supervisor or Quality head

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field
  • 10+ years hands-on experience in industrial bakery production
  • Understanding of ingredient functionality and interactions
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for industry processing, combining intelligence with hands-on skills
  • Analytical, proactive, and pragmatic approach; project management skills
  • Highly communicative and dynamic personality; strong networking skills
  • Customer-oriented with a sense for business development opportunities
  • Self-motivated and positive team player
  • Travel: Up to 70% travel required
