Description York IT Solutions is hiring Oracle DBA Administrator in contract and remote capacity.Role: Oracle DBA Administrator (LSH)Location: RemoteRate: $60.00 - $80.00 an hr.We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in managing and optimizing databases within the Life Sciences Hub (LSH) environment. As an Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, manage, and support Oracle databases in both development and production environments, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of Oracle database software, patches, and related components.
  • Provide expert support for Life Sciences Hub (LSH) environments, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Oracle database configurations, performance, and integrations.
  • Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for Oracle databases.
  • Optimize database performance through tuning, query optimization, and system-level adjustments.
  • Work with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas and data models for LSH applications.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and availability using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other tools.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the deployment of LSH applications, data migration, and integration with other systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, maintenance procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide on-call support and resolve critical database issues in a timely manner.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in managing Oracle databases (versions 11g, 12c, 19c, or higher).
  • Solid experience with Oracle Life Sciences Hub (LSH) and its integration with Oracle databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning, backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions (e.g., RAC, Data Guard).
  • Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and administration.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Oracle database environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix-based operating systems.
