COVID19 Prevention and Impact Grant – Deadline 30th NovemberPosted: 17th November, 2022 New funding stream, supporting projects addressing impact of Covid-19 and encouraging safe behaviours

New funding programme from Southwark Council and Peabody Community Fund – offering up to £5,000 for projects focussed on health and wellbeing issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic

This funding, originally from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, should develop activities on housing association sites and community venues to address both the impact that Covid-19 has had on more vulnerable communities, as well as the prevention of COVID19 infection and encouraging safe behaviours.

Priorities

Projects should aim to achieve one or more of the following objectives:

• Improve understanding of the ongoing health and wellbeing impacts of Covid-19 and how these might affect the current “living safely with Covid” period – including understanding any barriers to preventative behaviours and vaccine uptake faced by those within Southwark
• Address health and wellbeing issues identified through innovative, evidence based and locally delivered services / activities
• Improve trust in messaging and local services, and to understand why such messaging is not recognised.
• Funded projects should include information about Covid-19 preventions and safer behaviours in project activities

Target Communities

• Projects should be focussed on residents of Faraday, Borough, Bankside, Walworth, Peckham, and Chaucer wards – use our website to find out which ward you are in , and other ward-level information
• Projects should aim to reach ethnic minority groups, particularly Black African and Black Caribbean groups, and younger people across all ethnic groups.
• Projects should not exclude those who do not meet the above criteria, as Covid-19 related inequality is seen across Southwark.

The following types of organisation may apply:

• Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)
• Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) – may also be registered as a Charity or a Community Interest Company Limited by Guarantee (CICLG)
• Trust
• Unincorporated Association
• Community Benefit Societies (CBS). Ideally, the CBS will also be registered as charitable with HMRC, however this is not essential.
• Companies limited by Shares
• Schools

Unregistered groups are not eligible to apply.

Timeframe

Deadline of receiving applications is 30th November 2022. Decision on applications will be made by 9th December 2022.

Deliver is expected to start soon after organisations are notified of the results; and are due to be completed by 15th March 2023.
