Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Rochester, New York, on a full-time basis.

The Role

Seeking a creative, highly motivated, agile thinker with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical or computer engineering with strong programming skills and can perform at a high level in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing facility. This person should be comfortable supporting manufacturing processes on the production floor. As a Controls Engineer, you will address production issues alongside quality, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. Additionally, you will maintain and improve existing production processes using continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.

What You'll Do
  • Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and associated components.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and testing of control systems, control panels, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Develop innovative solutions.
  • Design and deploy intuitive user interface displays.
  • Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Lead and support the installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation systems.
  • Support and actively interact with manufacturing and quality groups.
  • Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness, and safety.
Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial automation or controls systems.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge
  • Ability to read and modify electrical prints.
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet networks.
  • Experience building new equipment.
  • Relevant auto industry experience and/or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Areas of expertise include manufacturing, assembly process, welding, molding, fabrication.
  • Robotic experience – Fanuc.
  • Additional control platform experience: Siemens.
  • SCADA experience – Microsoft SQL / Rockwell FactoryTalk Transaction Manager.
Compensation

The expected base compensation for this role is: $93,400.00 - $149,200.00. Actual base compensation within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
