2025-2026 Hall Monitor @ O'Donnell Middle School(Internal employees must use the internal link to login & apply.)Primary PurposeTo help insure the safety and security of the school building during the time when students are in the building.QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Qualifies for appropriate state paraprofessional certification
- Some college and/or technical training preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task activities
- Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology
- Able to work with students with significant behavioral needs
- Able to develop and deliver professional development
- Trained in CPI or other crisis intervention program
Experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- One of the primary purposes of this position is to assist in carrying out the district's goal of improving student achievement by providing assistance to students who are at-risk of academic failure or dropping out of school and/or staff who work with students at-risk of academic failure or dropping out of school.
Program Support
- Address unauthorized persons for questioning and then reroutes or detains them.
- Patrol halls and checks on restrooms to prevent students from congregating and loitering.
- Periodically check parking lots for parking authorization.
- Monitor in SAC class when necessary.
- Monitor cafeteria during lunch periods.
- Assist with canine inspection.
- Perform bus duty.
- Work with at-risk students to help improve student performance at school.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
