Overview

The Maître D' manages reservations, walk-ins, seating, guest assistance, and guest flow in the restaurant.

Responsibilities
  • Set up host stand, perform opening/closing procedures.
  • Prepare menus for service.
  • Take reservations, handle calls, assist guests.
  • Promote food and beverage sales.
  • Manage reservations and walk-ins for smooth service.
  • Report damages or breakage to management.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and training.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restaurant spaces.
  • Build guest relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Make quick, effective decisions based on guest and restaurant needs.
  • Monitor guest needs and reservation details.
  • Create and maintain a database with local concierges.
  • Ensure service integrity and positive guest interactions.
  • Manage restaurant traffic flow.
  • Encourage positive social media reviews through guest engagement.
  • Engage with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • Cheerful and pleasant disposition.
  • Effective communication with guests and team members.
  • Basic math skills and ability to operate relevant software.
  • Availability for late nights, holidays, and long shifts.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • 3-4 years of experience in high-volume, casual dining restaurants.
  • At least 2 years leading a front door team in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant.
