GTI Energy—a division of Buffalo-based GTI Fabrication—is launching a high-volume manufacturing facility in Goodyear, AZ. The plant will support GTI's mission-critical modular solutions for energy, defense, and industrial clients. This is a unique opportunity to join a company in ramp-up/start-up mode, where innovation, agility, and decisive leadership are essential.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our Goodyear facility. This individual will oversee all aspects of the plant's launch and production lifecycle—from facility layout to throughput, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can pivot quickly to address changing priorities, and brings strong cross-functional leadership to support rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities
- · Partner with engineering and operations to finalize facility design, layout, and equipment installation
- · Lead day-to-day operations: production, scheduling, maintenance, quality control, and warehousing
- · Manage all plant personnel, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless execution during startup
- · Adjust and adapt operations in real-time to meet evolving production needs and growth targets
- · Develop and implement KPIs to track output, efficiency, scrap, yield, and labor utilization
- · Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards (OSHA, ISO, etc.)
- · Champion continuous improvement and Lean practices across departments
- · Foster a strong safety culture and ensure rapid response to incidents and audits
- · Collaborate with Supply Chain, HR, and Finance on labor planning, materials, and budget alignment
- · Support the cultural foundation of GTI by promoting ownership, accountability, and communication
Required Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business
- · 7+ years of experience in plant or operations leadership, including experience in new facility start-ups
- · Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive measurable improvements in early-phase environments
- · Track record of responding quickly to operational challenges without compromising quality or safety
- · Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- · Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, production planning, and cost control
- · Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Qualifications
- · Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
- · Familiarity with ADP and ERP tools
- · Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
