Position Summary
Chaplains serve as frontline staff fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCHAP. They use their gifts to serve employees and their families.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Serve as a messenger of faith, mission, and purpose.Build relationships with employees through regular visits and interactions, demonstrating character and spiritual discipline.Visit employees or families at hospitals, homes, or other sites to provide care and support.Offer confidential pastoral discussions on personal issues, providing referrals as needed.Assist with funeral planning and provide follow-up support.Make jail visits and support notification of tragedies.Provide post-termination care to facilitate transitions.Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities and distribute supportive literature.Represent the company in ministry-related situations.Participate in new employee orientation about Employee Care Services.Respond to other duties as requested by leadership, within scope.Requirements
Ability to work in an interfaith setting, respecting diverse beliefs.Effective listening and communication skills; ability to handle stressful situations.Spiritual maturity, Christian lifestyle commitment, and understanding of the Bible.Professional interaction skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.Excellent communication skills and emotional stability.Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret policies.Computer proficiency with relevant software and technology.Valid driver's license and auto insurance.Conditions of Employment
