Description
The Applications Lab Engineer performs duties as a primary support resource for sales, marketing, manufacturing and customers. Provides sales and corporate support of Ambrell's thermal-process solutions with an emphasis on induction heating applications.
• Supports company teams and customers with expert-level knowledge of Ambrell products, the induction applications for Ambrell products and the integration of Ambrell products. Make necessary engineering calculations to support product selection/recommendation.
• Creates quotes for Ambrell products based on project estimates
• Assumes a technical relationship with sales prospects, customers and internal team members on assigned projects.
• Evaluates customer needs, assist with development of sales proposals and with the technical presentation of sales proposals.
• Performs application lab duties including Lab Service Requests (LSRs), application evaluations and feasibility studies, application testing, induction calculations and reporting
• Provides expert knowledge in Ambrell products, induction heating, thermos-processing and industrial production. Develops and maintains a deep understanding of how the entire suite of Cayuse products is developed, deployed, and supported.
• Identifies customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients.
• Provides input to product feature enhancements and process improvements.
• Provides engineering support. Collaborates closely with the Product Development, Manufacturing and Quality teams to improve processes and technology supporting deployment and maintenance of our applications.
• Comprehends and interprets specifications, test plans, materials, power generation, induction.
• Performs data analysis and interrogation.
• Troubleshoots implementation, product and applications issues.
Requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Continuously exhibit the highest levels of professional discretion as a technical representative of Ambrell in all customer relationships.
• Energetic, curious, resourceful, highly creative and self-motivated. Able to thrive in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Travels and acts as an ambassador and as an evangelist of the company.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting of project activities through Ambrell's time recording system.
• Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Materials Sciences or Engineering or AAS degree with 2-3 years of experience in the thermal field.
• Experience with heat treatment of metals, and a general understanding of metallurgy preferred.
