Job Description :

Pembrooke and Ives is seeking a Senior Designer with at least 7 years of experience, primarily in Commercial Projects, to work closely with Junior Designers, Intermediate Designers, Project Managers, and Studio Directors. The role involves providing development, production support, and coordination throughout the project delivery process as a member of the design team. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, with a 'can-do' attitude and exceptional attention to detail. This position offers a great opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication & Coordination :

  • Effectively communicates and coordinates with project stakeholders including team members, clients, vendors, building management, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors to convey project information promptly and accurately.

Project Drawings, Documentation & Deliverables :

  • Oversees the execution of design concepts from implementation to completion in collaboration with the Studio Director.
  • Manages the preparation and development of concept images, mood boards, and project drawings such as surveys, floor plans, elevations, electrical plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, sections, millwork drawings, and details.
  • Supervises the creation of 3D models and renderings, as well as project documentation including schedules for materials, finishes, fixtures, hardware, and appliances.
  • Produces qualified contractor lists, reviews bid documents, leads value engineering, and reviews consultant drawings and shop drawings.
  • Responds to RFIs, inspects contractor services, and oversees the final design punch list.

Meetings & Presentations :

  • Participates in meetings with clients, project teams, contractors, and vendors; prepares agendas, notes, and minutes.
  • Supervises the production of client presentations.

Sourcing, Selection & Specification :

  • Sources and specifies project materials in line with budget and schedule; maintains finish samples and materials library.

People Leadership :

  • Mentors and motivates design teams, fostering mutual respect and trust.
  • Supports diversity and ongoing education initiatives, participates in recruiting, and encourages innovation and continual improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High taste level with knowledge of high-end market trends in space, lighting, fabrics, furniture, and equipment.
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines and making decisions swiftly.
  • Confident, presentable, discreet, with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office; Studio Designer is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in interior design or architecture firms.

This is a hybrid role.

Salary Range : $100,000 - $115,000 annually, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus.
