The Center for Population Health Data Science (CPHDS), launched in October 2023, aims to catalyze critical data modernization work and enable the agency to link public health, healthcare, and social services for timely and effective public action. We are working towards making these data more accessible, timely, equitable, meaningful, protected, and actively used. CPHDS seeks to strengthen agency-wide data capabilities by empowering staff, enhancing data sharing, and utilizing modern technology to produce trusted, integrated data and insights. A comprehensive, real-time view of city needs is essential to improve public health actions and health outcomes for vulnerable New Yorkers.

City Research Scientist - 21744 Minimum Qualifications1. For Level I: A master's degree in physical, biological, environmental sciences, or public health from an accredited institution.2. For Level II and above: A doctorate in an appropriate field plus one year of responsible supervisory, administrative, or research experience; or a master's plus three years of full-time research experience; or equivalent education/experience with at least a master's and two years of relevant experience. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can substitute for some experience.
Note: Appointments are subject to a one-year probationary period.
