This is an opportunity to shape sourcing strategies that directly support disaster response, resilience, and operational continuity.
Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Supply Chain Specialist for our client, a large utility provider with a nationwide presence. This position supports complex sourcing efforts across multiple departments and ensures rapid response capabilities during emergency and high-impact events. You will manage strategic procurement initiatives while also improving day-to-day processes for long-term supply chain stability.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing strategies for emergency response, disaster recovery, and infrastructure support.
- Manage RFP/RFI/RFQ processes, including supplier identification, proposal evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Conduct spend analysis, develop category strategies, and assess supplier risk in alignment with resilience goals.
- Build and maintain a supplier network capable of rapid deployment and scale during crises.
- Oversee contract lifecycle activities, with emphasis on readiness clauses and compliance.
- Collaborate with operations, legal, and emergency management teams to ensure seamless contract execution.
- Create and maintain procurement playbooks, dashboards, and response tools for crisis management.
- Establish new contracts and purchase orders, ensuring competitive pricing and aligned timelines.
- Coordinate closely with distributors and operations to deliver on new project timelines.
- Support procurement analytics, reporting, and improvement initiatives across the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field from an accredited university.
- 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Experience supporting large organizations with complex operational environments (5,000+ employees).
- Knowledge of emergency procurement protocols and disaster response sourcing.
- Experience managing supplier networks and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with operational services procurement or materials sourcing.
- Strong project management experience and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive sourcing decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across departments in a high-paced environment.
