Job Title: Splunk Administrator (Remote /Hybrid)Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid – Within 30 miles preferred)Duration: 1+ YearsPreference: Local candidates highly preferred. Exceptional remote candidates may be considered if they meet all core requirements.Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Splunk Administrator to oversee and enhance our Splunk infrastructure. This role is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Splunk components, ensuring a secure, high-performing, and resilient data analytics environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Splunk in both cloud and on-premises environments, and the ability to collaborate with IT and security teams to improve visibility and monitoring across the organization.Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Splunk components (forwarders, indexers, search heads).
• Perform system upgrades and apply patches to maintain system health and security.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system functionality.
• Develop and manage dashboards, alerts, visualizations, and reports.
• Work with IT and security teams to integrate Splunk with other applications.
• Manage data ingestion processes, ensuring accuracy and availability.
• Provide technical support and training for Splunk users.
• Maintain system documentation including configurations, processes, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on Splunk Administration experience.
• 3+ years of experience working in AWS environments.
• Proficient with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.
• Experience in log management, data parsing, and monitoring best practices.
• Familiarity with core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
