Kerrington's Care Academy Inc. is a new private school for students with disabilities, slated to open in January 2025.

Position: Principal

We are currently seeking a Principal dedicated to students with autism and intellectual disabilities. The Principal will oversee all program staff, including teachers, social workers, BCBAs/RBTs, paraprofessionals, therapists, service providers, and administrative staff. We aim to hire an exceptional leader who will foster student and staff success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, organizing, and directing services and activities of the special education office.
  • Providing educational and administrative leadership at designated sites.
  • Supervising and evaluating staff performance.
  • Managing school operations, developing budgets, and liaising with external agencies.
  • Managing facilities and supporting program management.
  • Position Requirements:

  • Certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL) required.
  • Supervisory and programmatic experience in a special education setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development tailored to student needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with districts and out-of-state schools.
  • Developing outcome measures to evaluate educational efficacy.
  • Recruitment, hiring, and staff development.
  • Managing educational materials purchasing and invoicing.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Developing policies, monitoring behavior standards, and maintaining contact with education authorities.
  • Overseeing administrative staff and maintaining confidential records.
  • Participating in budget development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Developing orientation materials and conducting staff training.
  • Staff scheduling, classroom management, and resource utilization.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring IEP compliance.
  • Implementing behavior management systems and educational programs.
  • Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Education Leadership, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant education and experience that demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Experience with children with intellectual, developmental disabilities, or autism is highly preferred.
