Summary:
This full-time role will work cross-functionally with teams across marketing, venue operations, content, media, product, and experiential departments to bring high-impact sports activations to life across all Cosm venues, including Los Angeles, Dallas, and upcoming locations in Atlanta and Detroit, with more to follow in 2026. In this role, you'll plan and execute game-day experiences, real-time immersive broadcasts, league activations, and watch parties, ensuring seamless operations and elevated fan engagement at every touchpoint.
As the Sports Events Production Manager, you'll oversee the end-to-end execution of sports-related events, driving all in-venue activations, managing technical and logistical workflows, and coordinating talent and performers. This role is pivotal in transforming live sports moments into unforgettable experiences, working closely with internal teams and partners to ensure every event meets business objectives and elevates the overall fan experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of all sports-related events across Cosm venues, including but not limited to game-day activations, watch parties, league activations, and live sports broadcasts.
- Oversee logistics for in-venue sports activations, ensuring that events are executed according to schedule, budget, and specifications.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Content Ops teams to ensure that events are aligned with marketing strategies and media coverage, driving fan engagement and awareness.
- Create and manage in-venue fan engagement activations, integrating dynamic activities, promotions, and live entertainment that enhance the live-event experience and deepen fan connection.
- Coordinate with performers, athletes, and partners to integrate live interactive elements that drive excitement and engagement, such as live challenges, contests, giveaways, and fan interaction zones.
- Ensure that fan experiences are designed to increase interaction, ticket sales, and repeat visits by delivering an unforgettable experience every time.
- Serve as a key collaborator across Venue Entertainment, Marketing, Media, Product, Operations, and Content teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of all aspects of each event.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on event promotion, audience targeting, and engagement strategies to drive ticket sales and maximize fan participation.
- Work with the Content Ops and Media teams to ensure real-time integration of live sports content, broadcasts, and immersive displays across all venues.
- Oversee the recruitment, scheduling, and management of performers, including live talent, presenters, and host interactions to enhance the in-venue experience.
- Collaborate with performers and partners to ensure all live performances and activations are aligned with the event's objectives, fan expectations, and technical requirements.
- Manage the logistics and coordination of talent rehearsals, including timing, staging, and integration with immersive event components.
- Lead vendor management for all technical requirements, ensuring that all AV, lighting, stage setups, and interactive tech are aligned with the event's needs.
- Manage relationships with sports leagues, sponsors, and partners to integrate branding and sponsorship activations that enhance the live experience and align with the event's marketing objectives.
- Develop, manage, and track the budget for each event, ensuring all production costs, vendor fees, and resources are utilized effectively and efficiently.
- Collect data and feedback post-event to assess the success of the event, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for future events.
- Generate post-event reports that include fan engagement metrics, ticket sales, feedback, and other key performance indicators to assess overall event success and inform future planning
Experience
- Strong experience organizing, scheduling, coordinating, and executing live sports events, including immersive watch parties, league activations, and in-venue broadcasts.
- Previous experience with major sports network or team in day-of production execution role, content creation, and/or live broadcast.
- Ability to produce ENG-style crew including minimally operating small camera rig, audio system, and working with talent live.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks under pressure, and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Proficient in creating and managing detailed run-of-show documentation tailored to complex, high-impact events across multiple venue locations.
- Demonstrated expertise collaborating across internal teams, including marketing, venue ops, product, and content to ensure seamless execution and alignment on fan engagement strategy.
- Experience managing performers, athletes, and event talent, including rehearsals, scheduling, and integrating live entertainment into event workflows.
- Familiarity with immersive technology and audience engagement techniques that elevate sports experiences across digital and physical touchpoints.
- Skilled in fan activation design, including the integration of live contests, giveaways, interactive installations, and branded partner activations.
- Experienced in content QC processes and workflows, working with technical and media teams to ensure quality control across video, lighting, and audio elements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with experience using Notion or similar project management tools to track timelines, tasks, and event logistics.
- Well-versed in event risk management and safety protocols, with hands-on experience building health and safety plans in collaboration with venue operations teams.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to keep internal and external stakeholders informed in dynamic, live-event settings.
- Experience with lighting design and programming; knowledge of Mosaic software is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and resourceful, with a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving in high-stakes environments.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Event Production, Entertainment Management, Live Event Operations, Media, Communications, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in Sports Management, Production, or Experiential Marketing are a strong plus.
- 5+ years of experience in live event production, venue operations, or experiential activations, ideally within a sports, entertainment, or media environment
- A strong and demonstrable track record of success in live event production, vendor and talent coordination, fan engagement strategy, and real-time execution under high-pressure conditions.
- Deep understanding of the sports, entertainment, and media landscape, with bonus consideration for candidates with immersive venue, interactive technology, or sports league experience.
- Proven ability to translate creative concepts into operational plans, balancing guest experience, brand objectives, and technical feasibility within immersive venue environments.
- Strong fluency in emerging event technologies, real-time broadcast tools, and interactive fan engagement platforms that elevate in-venue storytelling and audience participation.
