Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sanctions Screening Analyst with hands-on experience in using ComplyAdvantage and HotScan tools to support our enterprise-wide OFAC and global sanctions compliance efforts. This individual will be responsible for screening alerts, escalations, and tuning rules to support an effective financial crime risk management program. The role will be based out of our New York City office with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct name, transaction, and customer screening using ComplyAdvantage and HotScan tools for OFAC, UN, EU, and other jurisdictional sanctions lists.
• Investigate screening alerts to determine false positives or escalate true matches for compliance review.
• Document decisions in accordance with regulatory expectations and internal procedures.
• Participate in the optimization and tuning of sanction screening parameters to reduce false positives and improve effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Compliance, AML, and Technology teams to onboard new data sources or adjust screening logic.
• Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory examiners on screening results, escalation volumes, and system performance.
• Ensure adherence to applicable NYDFS, FinCEN, and OFAC regulatory requirements.
• Support periodic audits, validations, and risk assessments related to screening controls.
• Assist in testing new configurations, watchlists, or system upgrades in ComplyAdvantage/HotScan environments.

Required Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in sanctions screening or financial crimes compliance within banking, insurance, or fintech sectors.
• Proven hands-on experience with ComplyAdvantage and HotScan screening platforms.
• Strong understanding of OFAC and global sanctions regimes.
• Familiarity with customer onboarding, KYC/CDD, and name-matching logic.
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., NYDFS Part 504).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with list management, including integration of 3rd party watchlists (WorldCheck, Dow Jones, etc.)
• SQL or scripting experience for rule tuning and data extraction.
• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, International Relations, or a related field.
• ACAMS certification or equivalent a plus.
