The Gloucester Marine Terminal is operated by Gloucester Terminals LLC and offers stevedoring and break bulk services. The terminal, located in the Port of Philadelphia has direct access to highways as well as three rail lines that transit across the United States and Canada, providing unrivaled turnaround times for our partners.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Solve problems, anticipate issues, and ensure work is completed thoroughly.
- Act as a team player with a positive attitude, capable of supervising and directing groups of unionized individuals.
- Assume a leadership role, work independently, and participate in an established safety program.
- Coordinate with internal departments, customers and their agents, and vendors.
- Show proficiency in MS Office/Teams, Word/Google Docs, PowerPoint, and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Work occasional holiday or weekend shifts when required.
- Be reliable and flexible with working various hours.
- Obtain a “TWIC” card.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and cope with a fast-paced environment.
- Manage conflict with customers and act as their advocate internally, ensuring alignment and prioritization of resources for exceptional delivery service.
- Assist customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Target improvement for customers, collaborating with internal teams to identify strategic solutions.
- Manage order activities and ensure accuracy in operating systems, including order communication flow, service failures, track & trace, and follow through with order claims.
- Collaborate with Operation Managers to develop strategic planning.
- Experience with Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and/or Gate Operating Systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of Government Agencies (USDA, FDA, and US Customs).
- Think ahead and be familiar with sorting containers, stacks, peel piles, and logistics of timing truck to container location.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm, with alternating weekends.
