Job Description :
POSITION OVERVIEW:

Lead employees to ensure customer satisfaction by moving all shipments on time and damage-free.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead, manage, educate, and develop company employees, focusing on retention and growth.
  • Supervise and direct employee work, including pre-shifts, with a focus on quality, customer deliverables, and safety, identifying and overseeing improvements.
  • Actively monitor, record, and educate employees about unsafe acts/conditions, correcting immediately with appropriate corrective actions, and providing feedback and follow-up.
  • Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure timely and damage-free delivery and pickup of freight.
  • Communicate job assignments clearly and coordinate with all employees.
  • Monitor service freight and ensure compliance with cut time standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
  • Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and appointment setting.
  • Monitor performance data and gather information for reporting.
  • Build positive relationships and communication with all business partners to meet service standards.
  • Identify freight with incorrect weight or classification.
  • Ensure all OS&D (Overages, Shortages, and Damages) are identified and processed properly.
  • Perform administrative functions as required.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to travel as needed.
    • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC, tariff rules, and company policies (preferred).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet.
    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise.
    • Variable hours based on operational needs.
    • Frequent contact with personnel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
