We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell MV-75 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

Flight Test Engineering

The Flight Test Engineering team at Bell is responsible for safely executing all development and certification test activities for civil and military programs. Work alongside talented professionals, hone your technical skills, gain leadership experience, and contribute to Bell's innovative product development.

What you'll be doing as a Flight Test Engineer

  • Collaborate with engineering teams and pilots to develop and implement evaluation requirements into test plans covering aircraft performance, flying qualities, and systems testing.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute daily flight test activities, including preparing test cards and pre-flight briefings.
  • Conduct test flights, either from telemetry or as part of the flight crew.
  • Update flight test data, analyze results, and prepare reports.
  • Coordinate with engineering and external groups to resolve technical issues.

Skills You Bring To this Role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, team-oriented mindset.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in experimental testing, evaluation, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of FAA and military certification processes.
  • Formal flight test training or coursework.
  • Understanding of aircraft systems and flight dynamics.
  • Private or commercial pilot license.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Class III Medical Certificate.
  • 5+ years of related experience in testing and evaluation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
