OVERVIEW :
Manage the garage staff to include, hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS :
- Ensure safe working conditions for all associates.
- Ensure quality of repairs is in accordance with customer requirements, OEM specifications, and DOT regulations.
- Manage the department operations to ensure costs are within established operating budgets.
- Perform other assigned tasks as directed.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Understanding of mechanical processes.
- Understanding of standard software applications.
- Strong math, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of standard computer software applications.
- High School Diploma.
- It is necessary that candidates have the capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful under unanticipated situations.
- Occasionally works nights, weekends, holidays, and/or long shifts.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 7-10 years of fleet maintenance experience.
- 3-5 years as a shop foreman and operation of tractor-trailer repair.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience.
- B.S. Degree.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

- Position may require occasional moving between offices or buildings, and requires standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
- Extraneous situations may arise for which additional physical demands may be required including lifting up to 60lbs.
- Exposure primarily consists of dusty and slippery floors and working under elevated equipment.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 dB.
- May be exposed to chemicals used at a truck repair shop.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
