Engineering Manager
We are seeking an Engineering Manager for our client's integrated service company in the construction industry. This is a full-time, onsite position located in Long Beach, California.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide engineered lift drawings, perform lift analysis, and rigging design for daily operations.Support and mentor junior staff with technical reviews.Guide field and estimating departments in handling, lifting, and installing equipment.Select appropriate lift equipment based on project requirements.Apply innovative techniques for specialized rigging challenges.Survey construction sites to identify potential hazards and interferences.Review rigging aspects of jobs with the estimating department.Prepare drawings and explanations for project methods in bid proposals.Assist in preparing specifications and soliciting quotations for rigging needs.Develop preliminary lifting/construction plans for proposals.Travel to construction sites as needed and oversee heavy lift operations.Verify that client facilities can withstand temporary forces during lifts.Review and approve subcontracted rigging plans.Participate in meetings to communicate design activities.Qualifications:
B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus.PE license.7-10 years of experience in rigging, structural design, and analysis.Experience with falsework, bolted and welded connections, shoring, and structural stability.Proficiency in reading and reviewing shop and fabrication drawings.Knowledge of RISA 3D, Mathcad, MATLAB, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D, and Revit.Experience with industry software for lifting and heavy transport plans.Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, AISC, and ASCE codes.Experience with FEA software like RISA 3D or SolidWorks Simulation.Additional Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
