POSITION SUMMARY

As the Program Support Staff at Chateau Health & Wellness, your primary responsibility is to safeguard the safety, well-being, and dignity of our residents as they navigate the path to addiction recovery and emotional wellness. You will actively contribute to the daily operations of the program and uphold a supportive and functioning environment essential for our residents' growth and healing.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Training and Experience:

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of one year experience in a residential, wilderness, therapeutic, outdoor, educational, or adolescent environment.

Skills and Competences:

You will need to demonstrate proficiency in planning and leading a diverse range of recreational, therapeutic, social, and educational activities within our residential treatment center. Your role extends to supervising both clients and staff within the treatment milieu, ensuring the smooth operation of our programs. You should possess fundamental computer literacy skills, along with the physical ability to undertake light cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key qualifications for this position include possessing a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, adept conflict resolution skills, a deep sense of empathy for clients in recovery, and the ability to function effectively within a collaborative team environment. Additionally, you must exhibit a willingness to learn and actively participate in a feedback-driven culture while showcasing communication skills, and maintaining a positive attitude.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to Policies: Follow the guidelines outlined in the Chateau Health & Wellness Employee Handbook and Program Support Staff Handbook, including all systems, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Model Program Philosophy: Uphold and demonstrate the core principles and therapeutic philosophy of Chateau Health & Wellness in all interactions.
  • Maintain Professionalism: Consistently maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards in all aspects of the role.
  • Behavior Management: Implement and adhere to behavior management models as required by DHS and Chateau Health & Wellness, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
  • Accurate Documentation: Complete timely, accurate, and objective documentation of clients' daily activities using the in-house electronic health record system.
  • Milieu Supervision: Provide 24-hour supervision and management of the therapeutic milieu, ensuring a structured and safe environment for clients.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, following established protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
  • Engage in Feedback Culture: Actively participate in Chateau Health & Wellness's feedback-driven culture by using effective and constructive communication to support team collaboration.
  • Client Support: Provide consistent, compassionate daily support to clients, addressing their needs and fostering a positive therapeutic experience.
  • Transport Clients: Safely transport clients to outside activities, ensuring their well-being during travel.
  • Adaptability and Professionalism: Exhibit flexibility and professionalism in the face of changes, obstacles, or challenges, ensuring smooth program operations.
  • Facility and Program Support: Assist with weekend and evening programming or maintaining recreational equipment, as required, to support the facility's needs.
  • Training Requirements: Attend all in-person training sessions and complete required online training modules to ensure compliance with program standards and continuous professional development.
  • On-Call System Awareness: Understand and utilize the on-call system effectively, reporting concerns and issues promptly to the Program Director or Program Manager.
  • Support Program Objectives: Actively contribute to implementing and maintaining program goals, ensuring alignment with Chateau Health & Wellness's mission and standards.
  • Facility Maintenance: Actively participate in facility upkeep, including but not limited to light cleaning tasks, making beds, preparing rooms for new intakes, and ensuring work areas are organized, clean, and well-maintained.

Supervised By: Program Director & Program Manager.

Interpersonal Relationships/Personal Contacts: Program support team staff, clients, directors, clinicians, administrative staff, kitchen staff, recovery community, recreation venues

Physical Demands:

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and grasp. Ability to run a distance of 400 meters in 2 ½ minutes or less. Must be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips. Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly. Hearing to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. Be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe students on the unit and in therapeutic activities.
