Job Responsibilities
- EDS includes design and release responsibilities for the low voltage (LV) wiring, LV power distribution components, and all LV and high voltage (HV) wire harness components including connectors, terminals, shields, troughs, clips, wraps, and protection.
- Be responsible for the design of all low voltage (LV) wiring harnesses, including schematics, bill of materials, component selection, and wire harness prints, covering from conceptual design through virtual development, testing/sign-off, and manufacturing launch for electric pick-up and rugged SUVs.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to develop technical specifications supporting the quoting and sourcing process for harnesses and components under your control.
- Work with key module owners and suppliers to define and release all LV wire harnesses under your management.
- Participate in a diverse team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
- Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
- Ensure designs conform to safety standards and US government regulations.
- Stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
- Contribute to the design of production facilities for trucks and SUVs.
- Manage supplier resources efficiently to deliver wire harness designs that meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical wire harness design and release, with relevant automotive assignments covering all phases of product development, including design, testing, and launch.
- Strong technical skills and expertise in wire harness component design and release, employing a Six Sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across organizational levels.
