Under limited supervision, assist in administrative and oversight work in the managing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of the Airport. Work involves assisting in the overseeing the safety and security of the aviation facility; marketing, planning, and implementing the Master Plan projects. Reports to the Airport Manager.
Examples of DutiesDuties include, but are not limited to: Reviews airport operation; assesses and/or resolves issues; coordinates facility maintenance including but not limited to contractor performance review; performs general administrative tasks including but not limited to answering the telephone and electronic mail that are technical in nature, processing invoices and verifying contract compliance, providing rental payments to Accounting, meeting with airport tenants; provides support to Airport Advisory Committee including developing meeting agendas, minutes, and notices; meeting with individual members between meetings; etc.; reviews general aviation issues including accident reports and applicability to Lancaster County, pending National and State legislative or regulatory changes; performs general marketing activity to both aviation and non-aviation customers; receives and/or reviews various records and reports including invoices, purchasing card statements, rental receipts, Federal/State grants, airport inspection reports, monthly operations counts, and instrument arrival data charts; assist in preparing and/or processing a variety of documentation such as timesheet, monthly operating expenses, monthly revenues, quarterly grant performance reports, Capital Improvement Program Applications, monthly activity report, annual report, annual Lancaster County Council Airport Advisory Committee report, projected annual airport revenue, annual operating budget, and capital budget; refers to airport layout plan, FAA/State regulations, stormwater plan, building inspection form, policy and procedure manuals, codes/laws, publications and reference texts, etc.; operates a vehicle and a variety of office equipment and machinery such as computer, calculator, cell phone, portable communication radio, etc.; acts as Manager in the absence of the Airport Manager; as well as other duties as required.
Typical QualificationsRequires a Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, community development or a related field supplemented by six to nine years of experience in airport planning and management; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skill, knowledge and abilities. Must meet all certification requirements of FM and SCDOA. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have successfully completed required courses and certification(s) as deemed necessary by Lancaster County. Pilots license recommended.
