Primary Function

Responsible for keeping buildings and offices in a clean and orderly condition.

Essential Functions

  • Works to ensure offices, conference rooms, facilities, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Responsible for general cleaning and maintenance duties which may include vacuuming, dusting, item washing, trash collecting and proper sorting.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • General knowledge in use and maintenance of janitorial equipment.
  • Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must be trustworthy
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate information effectively and clearly to others.
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of two years' work experience in a janitorial role preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a government security clearance
  • Must pass drug and background screening
