Shift 1

A BRIEF OVERVIEW As a Metal Finisher - Polishing Technician, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by utilizing both automated and conventional polishing and belting equipment. Your work will directly impact the quality of our medical implants by ensuring they meet customer specifications and engineering standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Operate automated finishing equipment to achieve milestone finishes as specified in engineering drawings.

  • Utilize masking techniques to safeguard parts during manual processing.

  • Employ conventional buffing and polishing equipment along with appropriate materials to reach precise finishes according to engineering specifications.

  • Implement conventional belting operations, following detailed engineering instructions.

  • Use handheld air or electric tools for detail work on confined areas or inner diameters of cylindrical components.

  • Safely transport products using hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace along with tools and equipment.

  • Identify and report any faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to your supervisor.

  • Adhere strictly to safety rules and regulations in the workplace.

  • Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives.

  • Conduct dimension inspections using various measuring tools such as calipers, comparators, and pin gauges as required.

  • Participate in weekly housekeeping tasks following the 5S methodology.

  • Follow work orders to accurately perform operations on diverse parts and products.

  • Reinforce and uphold safety practices, promptly reporting any operational issues to supervisors.

  • Support quality and compliance by following all procedures and instructions related to our Quality Management Systems.

  • Complete all necessary training and development sessions.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • No prior work experience required (Preferred)

  • Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
