Position Overview:

We are seeking an Avionics Technician to join our team! This role will support the installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of avionics systems on our lunar landers, lunar terrain vehicles, and other advanced space technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with spaceflight or aerospace electronics and a strong understanding of avionics wiring, component testing, and system-level integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation and wiring of avionics hardware, including sensors, flight computers, data acquisition systems, and communication equipment.
  • Fabricate and route flight harnesses according to electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Assist with system-level integration and troubleshooting of avionics and electrical subsystems.
  • Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies to verify system performance.
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and assist engineers in functional and environmental tests.
  • Document and maintain configuration records, discrepancy reports, and work instructions.
  • Work in close collaboration with electrical, software, systems, and mechanical teams to ensure quality and performance across all mission phases.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Avionics, Aerospace Technology, or a related field; military technical training or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an avionics or electrical technician in aerospace, aviation, or defense.
  • Strong understanding of DC/AC circuits, wiring standards, and aerospace connectors (D-sub, MIL-spec, etc.).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics, ICDs, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with cable harness fabrication, including crimping, soldering, and connector assembly.
  • Familiarity with avionics communication protocols: MIL-STD-1553, RS-422/485, CAN bus, Ethernet.
  • Ability to operate in cleanroom environments and follow ESD protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and procedural compliance.
