Job Description :

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 34 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Construction Inspectorto join our construction management team. The ideal candidate has at least 3- 5 years of experience with the construction and inspection of various site construction projects across the New York Metropolitan area; including but not limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements etc.. This position will begin full-time, On-site, in New York City. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform inspections on construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications.
  • Read and perform inspections on contract drawings and plans to Identify any potential violations, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements;
  • Review all materials upon arrival at the job site to ensure compliance, including assessing the quality of materials used through testing.
  • Document inspections and maintain logs of work performed, reporting any issues discovered.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • At least 3 - 5 years of experience working professionally in a construction setting.
  • At least 3 - 5 years of experience working professionally as a construction inspector, including the inspection of site/civil work. (can overlap with above experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of construction codes for New York City and New York State, along with the related referenced standards such as ADA Standards, etc.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling to support the project team.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and procedures.
  • An active OSHA 30-hour certification is required.
  • Proficiency with web-based submittal collaboration systems.
  • Ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple team members.
  • Capability to safely maneuver around a construction site.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
