Job Description :

The University of Minnesota, Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, has an occasional need for part-time, temporary theatre arts or dance instructors to teach day or evening classes. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the 2025-2026 academic year. Applications will not be acknowledged upon receipt. Applicants will only be contacted should an active opening occur during the academic year. Positions may be appointed during the 2025-2026 academic year: fall semester 2025, spring semester 2026, or summer 2026.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BFA or five years of professional experience; with experience teaching dance students, or certification in the relevant field of study.
  • Candidates with BA/BFA will be appointed as teaching specialists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA/MFA or seven years professional training or extensive professional experience in the area of specialization.
  • Candidates with MA/MFA will be hired as lecturers.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $2000 - $2500 per credit; depending on education/qualifications/experience.

While our salary ranges provide a framework, it is important to note that the initial pay may not reach the maximum of the range. The salary offered will be based on individual credentials and experience.
