Job DescriptionAssociate Head Coach - Men's & Women's SwimmingDirector of AquaticsJob DescriptionClassification: ExemptReporting To: Men's & Women's Swimming Head Coach Summary and Scope of Position: The Associate Head Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with the administration and organization of a successful athletic program that competes in the Centennial Conference at the NCAA Division III level. Specific Responsibilities: The Associate Head Coach is critically involved in all aspects of the program and shares responsibilities with the Head Coach in key areas of the program such as:
  • Training plan and development
  • Video review of athlete performance
  • Fundraising
  • Meet strategy
  • Travel
  • Recruiting
  • Scheduling
Aquatic Director Responsibilities:
  • Direct the Little Bears swimming lesson program
  • Budgeting rentals, staff salaries, and pool upkeep supplies
  • Maintain pool by vacuuming
  • Scheduling and staffing Open Swim hours
  • Create and direct additional revenue-producing aquatic programming
  • Test and maintain chemical balance of aquatic facility- coordinate efforts with Facilities Services department
  • Hire and manage lifeguard staff
The Associate Head Coach will demonstrate concern for the overall welfare of student-athletes, engage in ethical decision-making and outstanding sportsmanship, and execute all of these responsibilities in a manner that reflects an ongoing commitment to the excellence, integrity and success of the Men's & Women's Swimming program, of the Department of Athletics, and Ursinus College. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Knowledge of rules and techniques of the specific sport
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning ability
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III and Centennial Conference rules and regulations
