The last application date will be posted on the State of Hawaii Civil Service Job Opportunities page.Duties Summary Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates recreation programs within corrections; conducts recreational activities; performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualification Requirements To qualify, you must meet all of the following:Legal Authorization: Must be citizens, nationals, or eligible for unrestricted employment in the U.S.Education: Bachelor's in recreation, physical education, therapy, leisure education, psychology, corrections, sociology, human development, or related field. Must include at least 12 semester credits in relevant courses.General Experience: 6 months in an organized athletic/recreation program with professional planning and execution experience.Specialized Experience: 1 year in planning and conducting recreation in a correctional setting, promoting participant development and well-being.Driver's License: Required for some positions, including immediate vacancies.Supervisory Aptitude: Demonstrated through leadership roles, training, or supervisor evaluations.Substitutions: Relevant substitutions as per requirements are applicable.Background Checks and PREA Compliance Applicants must consent to criminal, employment, and character background checks.
