Our vision is to enable the freedom to pursue joy by promoting independence, dignity, and self-determination.Position SummaryThe behavior technician plays a key role in supporting individuals with complex behavioral, mental health, and/or medical needs. This direct care position involves implementing behavior support strategies, assisting with daily living skills, and promoting community inclusion under the guidance of a Lead Designated Coordinator.QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following:Associate's degree (or higher) in a human services-related field (e.g., psychology, social work, education, behavioral health)Two years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, plus 50 hours of documented training in human servicesPreferred Experience:Working with high-behavior individuals (e.g., physical aggression, self-injury)Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settingsFamiliarity with Positive Support Strategies or behavior management approachesKnowledge of 245D regulations, vulnerable adult law, and person-centered practicesAdditional Requirements:Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving recordAbility to pass DHS background checkStrong communication, documentation, and crisis management skillsReliable attendance and schedule flexibilityKey ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 direct care and behavioral support in home and community settingsImplement positive support plans, crisis protocols, and interventions per each individual's support planSupport with daily living tasks such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and transportationDocument behavioral observations, daily notes, and incidents clearly and promptlyMonitor healthcare needs and administer medications as directedCoach life skills, coping tools, and social communication strategiesAttend trainings, supervision meetings, and contribute to team collaborationAssist with onboarding new staff and sharing knowledge of plans and routinesEngage individuals in meaningful activities and ensure safety and dignityPhysical & Environmental RequirementsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs (site-specific)Support physical transfers or mobility assistanceFrequent walking, occasional stairs, kneeling, crouching, or standingMay encounter pets or allergens at individual homesTravel between locations and community settings requiredWhy Join BrightPath?We are committed to nurturing our team with flexibility, empathy, and ongoing growth.
