Martin Regional Library is seeking a
Bilingual Teen Library Associate to bring extraordinary experiences to our teen customers while supporting their needs. The perfect candidate will seek ways to improve and anticipate tween and teen needs and trends; provide reference assistance and readers' advisory services for teens and educators through outreach in schools; and develop and implement teen/tween programs. Tulsa City-County Library provides ongoing training with our Youth Services Team to share and develop engaging and intentional displays, programs and support for the teens and tweens of Tulsa County. Located at 26th and Garnett, the Martin Regional Library a vibrant community center for all of east Tulsa. The library offers bilingual storytimes, a large family play area, three meeting rooms, and individualized technology instruction through our Book-a-Librarian program. Spanish-speaking staff are available to assist customers at any time the library is open. The Hispanic Resource Center (Centro Hispano) is located inside the Martin Regional Library and contains thousands of Spanish language books, DVDs, and magazines.
Bilingual Library Associate - Teen Location: Martin Regional Library - 2601 S. Garnett Road, Tulsa, OK 74129 Salary: $21.10 / Hour with Full Benefits including paid-time off, insurance, 457b, and Retirement Plan.
Bilingual bonus paid quarterly. Status: Full-Time - 40 hrs. / week
Work Schedule: - Monday 12:00pm - 9:00pm
- Tuesday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm
- Occasional Saturdays
- Occasional Sundays
Qualifications •Demonstrated fluency in both English and Spanish languages; appropriate level of proficiency will be verified through an external testing source. •Working knowledge of library procedures and operations; •Ability to understand the needs of the library customers and connect them to the right resource or service at the right time;
Education & Experience •Bachelors' degree required. •Bilingual English - Spanish required. •No previous experience required; library, retail, or customer service experience preferred
Physical Activity & Environmental Conditions •Work occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional light lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required. •There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperature and air conditions. The job may involve dealing with moderately unpleasant situations, such as occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of video display terminals
