This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The BASE Site Coordinator I supports the Director with daily operations of childcare programs creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes all children and families while promoting and maintaining a strong educational program in accordance with the YMCA and licensing and quality requirements. What You'll Do
- Manages all aspects of site responsibilities for smaller program sites of 44 students or less enrolled at any one time and operates in ratio during program hours.
- Leads the site program's daily operations including site specific scheduling, communication, and maintaining program statistics and audits to monitor and evaluate the quality of the program.
- Supports leadership with recruiting and hiring diverse educators who meet the qualifications required by licensing and quality assurance standards. Onboards, trains and develops educators and staff.
- Engages the site team and school to meet the needs of the families served.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Develops utilizes functional expertise to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with peers, parents and educators, and community organizations (e.g., state childcare licensing agency, school administration) to maximize program impact and drive
QualificationsWhat You'll Need
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field OR
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field and one-year experience with children OR
- Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience
- At least 4 years' experience working with children and some credits in education or related field work. (CDA, in school for education or related field)
- Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must keep an up-to-date DHS file with a current physical
- Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
- Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
