Child Care Assistants perform tasks related to the provision of developmentally appropriate child care programs and activities. This includes attending to the emotional and physical needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These are full-time, 40 hours per week positions. The pay rate is $18.07 per hour. Child Care Assistants at the University of Maine are eligible for government-funded salary supplements in accordance with MRS Title 22, 3737. Continuance of the salary supplement is contingent upon continued funding from the State of Maine Early Childhood Education Workforce Supplement Program.
