Our Controls Division continues to expand to meet customer needs across advanced automation, building systems, and energy-efficient solutions.Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Technician to support and execute the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems for industrial and commercial facilities. This individual will work closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure high-quality and timely execution of automated and motor control systems, building controls, PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and instrumentationPerform control panel terminations, field wiring, conduit installation, and cable pulling according to electrical and control schematicsSupport commissioning and startup of systems for commercial and industrial projectsRead and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, and control drawingsInterface with building automation systems and various industrial control platformsPerform diagnostics and root cause analysis on equipment failures and system malfunctionsCollaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure scope accuracy and timely deliveryComplete required documentation, redlines, and as-builts for turnover packagesMaintain a safe and clean job site, and adhere to all safety and electrical codesQualificationsMinimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical controls or industrial automationExperience with PLC platforms (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and VFDsStrong understanding of NEC and local electrical codesAbility to read/interpret control diagrams, wiring schematics, and ladder logicKnowledge of instrumentation and low-voltage controlsValid Colorado Journeyman or Wireman license preferred (or ability to obtain)Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skillsMust possess a valid Colorado driver's license and pass background/drug screeningPreferred ExperienceFamiliarity with Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP protocolsExperience with BAS, SCADA, or lighting control systemsOSHA 10/30 certification preferredWhat We Offer:Opportunity to lead and grow a strategic division within a thriving, award-winning electrical contractor.Consistent work in established oilfield markets north of Denver.Strong internal support and a collaborative, team-based culture.Competitive pay: $30 - $40/hour DOE.Full benefits package: 401K, PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision.Long-term, year-round employment with advancement opportunities.Piper Electric, a Crete United company, is an equal opportunity employer, considering all applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by state of federal law.
