School Instructional Aide, Para Educator, and/or a CNA
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a School Instructional Aide, Para Educator, and/or a CNA to work in a classroom setting for the new school year starting in Fall 2025. We need Healthcare Professionals to assist a general classroom, a specific student, or small group of students and get evaluated before receiving an ongoing/long-term case.
Key Details:
- Pay Rate: $18 $22 per hour based on behavioral experience & training
- Paid Weekly
- Schedule: Monday to Friday. Or certain weekdays you are available
- Reg. School Year Hours: 7:45, or 8:00am 1p, 2:15p, or 3:40pm (shifts may vary) No weekends
- Benefits: Paid Sick Time Benefits
- Commitment Level: 15 30 hours of availability.
Minimum Requirements:
- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB skin test, PPD or chest x-ray within the last 6 months
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Next Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills
- Computer proficiency preferred
- Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements, Full command, verbal and written, of the English language, in addition to ASL preferably!
- Current certificate as applicable per state and/or client requirement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follows through with IEP objectives including math, reading, speech, independent skills, and managing behavioral deficits and excesses, one on one or as a general classroom aide
- Facilitates teacher directed learning activities including lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, and work assistance
- Assists students when included into general education classes
- Communicates pertinent information to teachers
- Accompanies students during recess and lunch periods, along with community experiences
- Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students, parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities. (Note: Unless instructed otherwise by supervising teacher, all parent communication is the responsibility of certified personnel)
- Assists with activities of prescribed programs including those written by related service personnel such as PT, OT and SLP
- Assists students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
- May be asked to assist in behavior management techniques at the direction of the teacher and/or other school professional (i.e. BCBA, Psychologist, etc.)
- Assists teacher with clerical duties including making stimuli, making copies, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, preparing materials, and assignment scoring
