DescriptionThe Equipment/Automotive Painter will be responsible for:preparing metal and other surfaces on equipment and automotive equipment for painting, applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with spray guns and other auto painting equipment. removing accessories, glass, trim, and other parts. cleans, sands, and prepares surfaces for paintingapplies primers and finish coats to automobiles, trucks, trailers and equipment.applies decals and trimmay do body work may work with flammable and toxic materialsother job as directed by supervisorQualifications:Must have good knowledge of painting, body work, materials, techniques used in the tradea good knowledge of maintaining spray guns, and other auto painting equipmentMust be safety conscious with the ability to follow established policies and procedures both written and orallygeneral knowledge of stenciling, spray gun usage and other auto painting equipmentSafetyWill spend a substantial portion of time spray painting thus requiring employee to wear a mask, fresh air breathing apparatus or other safety related equipment as needed when working with paint products emitting hazardous vaporsPhysical Requirements:ability to lift up to 35 lbs. repetitively and occasionally over 70 lbs.ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and balance under precarious conditions; arm, hand and finger dexterity with at least one hand involved in reaching, grasping and feeling with good eyesight and color vision.
