The Monomoy Regional School District is seeking to hire an IT Technician. PRIMARY PURPOSE: The IT Technician will perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment, network systems, and software applications. The technician will respond to help-desk requests, diagnose and repair devices, distribute and set up new equipment, install software as required, and maintain an up-to-date inventory of technology assets. Work is performed on all computers, printers, copiers, projectors, interactive panels, and other technology equipment. Additionally, the IT Technician will assist with technology training. Reliable transportation is necessary, as work will occur in multiple buildings. RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience in help desk or support service in an educational environment preferred. Experience troubleshooting hardware and software in a multi-user, multi-OS environment. Knowledge of network topology and its functionality, security protocols, data privacy, and cybersecurity best practices. Dedicated, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic who can perform tasks with little or no supervision, who maintains a proactive attitude when establishing relationships among district personnel. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and give attention to detail. Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. Willingness to stay current with emerging educational technologies and tools. Experience providing basic technology training or professional development to staff is a plus. SUPERVISION: Reports to: Director of Technology ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Take initiative in performing responsibilities with minimal supervision. Install, configure, maintain, and support all technology, including printers, laptops, tablets, desktops, interactive panels, and other classroom technology. Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs, including screen replacements, keyboard fixes, battery replacements, imaging, and troubleshooting for classroom technology. Maintain and manage an up-to-date inventory of technology assets, ensuring devices are tracked, maintained, and properly documented. Assists staff and students in the use of technology, including hardware, e-mail, software, and other applications. Analyze and resolve technology issues using logic and creativity, exhibiting a commitment to seeing the problem through to resolution. Process technology requests and ensure issues are resolved or escalated in a timely manner using the district's help desk ticketing system. Collaborate with staff and administrators on technology projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope. Participate in developing and delivering technology training and professional development for staff. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing technology-related projects (e.g., hardware rollouts, system upgrades) at the direction of the Director of Technology. Support district-wide technology initiatives and projects in collaboration with the technology team. Ensure compliance with data privacy standards and maintain security protocols for devices and software. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month work year EVALUATION: This position will be evaluated annually.
