Under direct supervision, maintains an assigned area of the hospital in a sanitary and orderly condition in accordance with departmental and regulatory agency policies, procedures and standards. Skills include ability to work well under time constraints and effectively as a team member, and to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks. Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties and demonstrates competency in the delivery of care to meet age-specific needs if applicable. Principal duties include assembling necessary cleaning supplies and equipment, cleaning assigned areas by performing a variety of housekeeping duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing, inspecting area upon completion, preparing cleaning solutions, performing routine discharge room cleaning including removing soiled linen and remaking beds, notifying team leader of needed maintenance repairs, cleaning and storing equipment regularly, and logging tasks on Interserv per GBMC policy.
