This role is primarily responsible maintaining assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, orderly and attractive manner in accordance with established procedures and as directed by supervisor. The highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is to be maintained at all times.Minimum eligibility requirementsOne year related experience in a similar environment with on-the-job training preferredMust be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the jobAbility to remain calm under stressful situationsMust demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individualMust be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others and local, state and federal lawsMust have compassion for and desire to work with the elderlyMust meet all health requirementsMust pass criminal background checkMust be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodationEssential functions:Follow cleaning schedule and instructions as directed by supervisor, including residential homes and public areasSweep and vacuum all assigned areasClean and/or polish all room furnishings, fixtures, ledges, heating/air conditioning units in resident rooms and all public areasClean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizingClean all community showers, toilets, sinks, countertops, and baseboards, stock with paper towels, toilet paper, soap and shampooClean and check model rooms and work in concert with the maintenance to ensure that all incoming residents' homes are cleaned and ready for move-inClean all hallways, stairways and elevators as necessaryClean employee break area when necessaryEmpty trash in offices and public areasReport to supervisor any unsafe/hazardous conditions within the Community and any needed repairs to housekeeping or other facility equipmentKeep janitor closets and housekeeping supply rooms clean and orderlyOther duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisorCustomer service:Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customersPerform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional mannerTake initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priorityMeet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (Visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents' families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors and regulators)Communicate professionally and cooperate with supervisor and all community personnelResidents' rights:Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents' rightsOther:Follow & communicate company policies and proceduresThe job description provides a framework for the job; other duties may be assigned as necessaryWorking conditions (travel, hours, environment):Scheduled hours; possible overtime.
