Position Summary Under general supervision, the production assembler supports lean manufacturing processes through complete assembly, testing, and calibrating intricate devices to Customer specificationsResponsibilitiesPerforms moderately diversified work involving adjusting, fitting, and aligning to strict inspectionReceive shop orders, drawings or verbal instructions to assemble various productsSet-up work stations for assembly operations and perform assembly of a variety of products using hand and power tools, arbor and pneumatic pressuresMay be required to observe and inspect work of less experienced AssemblersReports any irregularities found on routing informationResponsible for operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances, requiring the use of a variety of measuring tools or instrumentsFollows established procedures, drawings, specifications and/or general verbal directionsMay instruct or train other operatorsParticipates in continuous improvement processesPerforms other duties as directedQualifications QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Requires writing and math skills normally acquired through high school educationMay require the ability to work hours outside of normal business hoursStrong hand/eye coordination skillsAbility to safely and accurately use a wide variety of tools and mechanical or electronic measuring instrumentsWorking knowledge of assembly procedures and techniques acquired through on-the-job trainingAbility to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions and read drawings, blueprint specifications, or equivalentAbility to interact and participate in a team driven environmentWorks in accordance with general safety rules and practiceKeeps immediate work area clean and free from hazardsPhysical Demands & Working Conditions:Concentrated mental and visual attention with a high degree of manual dexterity and visual attention for sustained periodsRepetitive hand motionsMust be able to work in a typical machine shop environment with exposure to oil, dust, dirt, heat fumes, cold, continuous noise, vibrations, etc.Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment including earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoesRequires continuous physical activity such as walking, standing, lifting; at times, in an OSHA designated noise environment (over 85 decibels)Parker Hannifin Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies and systems.
