Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Job FunctionsClean, disinfect and straighten resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, common areas, elevators, stairways, laundry room and other work areas so health standards are met.Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies using a vacuum cleaner and/or shampooer.Sweep, scrub, wax, and disinfect sinks, tubs, toilets and bathing roomsPolish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.Dust and polish furniture, woodwork and equipmentWash windows, door panels and sillsEmpty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas/trash receptablesClean up spills, soiled areas and other conditions as observed or directed.Collect, wash, dry, fold and distribute all laundry for the facility following the approved laundry procedures.Move and replace furniture as neededEnsure equipment is safe and stored properly and work areas are safe.Replace light bulbsAdhere to procedures regarding cleaners or other hazardous materialsRestock/reorder supplies as necessary within budget and properly store them.Ensure universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are followed.Properly report any hazardous conditions and equipment, incidents or accidentsAttend in-service and other training as required.Understand, comply with and promote resident rightsPromote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulatorsMaintain a professional appearance and attitude.Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and employees.Perform other duties as required.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCompetency Statement(s)Accountability: Accepts responsibility and accounts for his/her actionsResident Oriented: Takes care of the residents' needs while following company procedures.Ethical: Demonstrates conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standardsRespectful: Displays a caring, respectful and positive attitude when addressing residents, family members and co-workers.Honest/ integrity: Is truthful and seen as credible in the workplace.Relationship Building: Effectively builds relationships with residents and co-workers.Flexibility: Ability to cope successfully with unexpected events, handle several projects simultaneously and adapt to and support change.Reliability: Is dependable and trustworthyResponsible: Is held accountable or answerable for ones conduct.Interpersonal: Ability to resolve conflict in a positive way while seeking feeback to increase productivity of relationships.
